Sigh....I am on Day 65 of Power 90, heading to the home stretch...feeling great...and then CRAP. I rolled my ankle and sprained it. I am pretty devastated and will have to modify working out in the mornings. I don't not want to work out so was hoping people might have some suggestions about exercises I could do to ensure I burn calories while nursing my ankle.

Thanks!! ♥

Nursing a torn achilles and broken heel- I did "chair dancing" also can put your knee on a chair and do a lot of aerobic dancing. I also did abdominal and upper body pilates. Sorry you are hurt-good luck

Lots of core work is a great idea - e.g. leg lifts with your torso on the ground, russian twists, pilates stuff, folding lawn chairs (arms and legs out straight, on your back, lift your arms and legs so that you touch your toes right above your hips, then lower everything down again).

Also, not sure how bad the sprain is but ... I sprained my ankle back in September (it was the size of a grapefruit. Awesome stuff). I rested completely for two days (i.e. NO EXERCISE!!) and iced obsessively, kept it elevated, and stayed on anti-inflammatory medication. I wasn't cured after two days, but I could grin and bear it through a workout. Sometimes, resting up really is the best trick ...

You can still do pushups on your knees.

If you can swim, that would be the best exercise.

Boxing either standing or in a chair. Stationary bike. How bad is the sprain? Swimming may hurt as your ankle will 'flop' around in the water.

As for the ankle, after a few days rest, start drawing the alphabet on the floor with your big toe. This will help you loosen things up and improve your range of motion...

Free weights will work your upper body. Tricep curls, bicep curls, upright row etc. If you don't have any use a can or bottle of water.
