    Hi!

I am 20 and weigh about the same as you do. My goal is to lose about 10kg (about 20 pounds). But i give myself a year to complete that goal as i'm not in a rush, although i hope to have lost about 10 by summer. Losing weight fast is usually not a good idea, especially not if you want to lose some substantially (i'm assuming about 10 pounds in 6 weeks if you want to see results) and that's more than a pound a week.

For me, it's not all about the exercise, but about what you eat. Just keep track of it for a few days and you might be surprised how many calories you eat. Me, i never snacked, i don't like sweets, all i'd ever eat now and then was chips in the weekend, but i was surprised to find out how many calories i ate during my three meals a day.

Set up the plan in my fitness pal to lose 10 pounds in 8 weeks and it will tell you exactly how many calories you can eat every day to lose the amount you want to. As long as you meet that goal (don't go over, but don't go far under either) you should lose your weight in time. However, use the bmr calculator under tools and be smart and never eat less calories than the number it says. If you do, you'll be eating less calories than your body really needs and that will NOT result in weight loss.

Also, before you ask once you start exercising. Exercising will make your daily calorie goal go up. In other words, if you exercise you get to eat more that day. Do it! Just stick to the goal myfitnesspal sets for you, no matter what it says and you should be fine.
