I have a cold

I feel icky and tired. However I just started the 30 day shred with no room for a day off. I must workout today. It is level 1 day 5 and I have to do it.

Looking for tips on how to get through it. Should I medicate an hour or so before or just do it and do the best I can?

If its a head cold, feel free to work out. If its in your chest, take it easy. You can cause some bad problems. That said, some basic meds should be ok. Talk to your doctor and see what he has to say.

Thanks. I think it is just a head cold. I am not worried so much health wise I just am trying to figure out how to get through my workout. I guess doing the best I can is better then doing nothing. I will take my cold meds and then when the stuffiness subsides a bit bang it out.

Maybe I just needed to complain about being sick..lol..my 2 year just doesn't understand.

this goes to show how we can get addicted to good eating and excercise. If you feel that you can handle it go for it.
    hope your feeling better

IMO, I would never exercise while sick no matter what. When you exercise you are stressing the body (which lowers the immune system) and it's already trying to fight sickness. Get rest and let your immune system do what it needs to do to get you healthy again. Just my opinion and I'm sure most won't agree with me. (Did you know starting an intense exercise routine can make you sick?)

I didn't know that. I am not sure the 30 day shred would be considered intense but it makes sense since no one else in my house is sick but me and I am generally the last one to get sick.

My tip for a head cold is to take a hot shower and then workout anyway! Just keep your movements slow and perhaps not use any hand weights. I'm also doing the 30 Day Shred. Of course, I hit a wall and caught a cold when I did my first workout. Looking back though, I'm glad I pushed through. Keep at it! You can do it!
