ok so i know what they mean, three different sites gave me a BMI of 22.8 and that im in a healthy range and that normal weight is from 107.8 to 145.7- i think thats a jump and would like to be closer to 107 then 145..lol
MFP BMR says 1324
another site said 1412.
ive been dabating upping my daily calorie intake because lots of people said it might be a good idea to try cause i really never loose weight, and maybe 1200 is too little for me. i also eat back all my exercise calories.
if i do up the calorie- how much should i do it too? i dont feel like im starving and i rather stay at 1200 but i hear going higher MIGHt help. lets hope.

I would go with the 1400 number as you are pretty active.0

changes your setting to lose 1/2 lb per week and it'll calculate it for you0

Eat at least your BMR (this is what your body needs just to function "comatose" number. I think it would be safe to use MFP number (you could probably even use the higher number if you have a kid - they keep you running around). On days you exercise eat your BMR and your exercise calories. You will get different numbers from different sites.
MFP has my Maintenance as 1470 (my BMR is 1188). But I have a BodyMedia Fit and I know during the week I burn between 1800-2300 calories/day (I'm 5'2" and 123lbs). Weekends can be lower and my absolute lowest was 1641. I laid on my a** all day and did nothing.
I think MFP numbers are a bit on the low side. You can re-calculate your goals to get a higher number. If you don't have a lot of weight to lose 2lbs per week loss can have a bad effect. I had to choose .5 per week because I was already at a healthy weight and my average was 2lbs per month.0 -
You have to contstantly challenge your body to keep guessing so try eating a little more and it may help you. I know I had my cals down to 1300 something once and that week I only lost .02 BOOOOOOO!!!! lol. So try it. If it doesn't work you can always change it back for the following week.0

I dont think that eating more will help you loose weight.
My MFP goal was also 1,200 calories.
And each day i was eating about that much and i just stayed at the same weight.
From previouse experience i knew that if i increased the amount to 1,500 calories i would put on weight.
So i decided to lower the calorie amount...
And it didnt matter how much i lowered it by.
I still wasnt looseing weight.
So then i finally found a system where im starting to see changes.
I no longer really care about calories.
I eat freely anoth.
Well i eat as much as someone who doesnt want to put on weight eats..
But i try to do as much exercise as possible.
Because as long as ur exercising alot u will loose weight!0 -
I have struggled a lot since being between five and ten of my goal. I just gained two weeks in a row, then this week I was thinking about upping my intake from 1200 cause I'm so hungry quite often. This week I actually went over my goal about 3 times, a good 100 to 200 or so, and I lost 2.2. so I definitely changed things up to get more calories in, so I'm at 1380 now, I switched my activity from sedentary (I sub and don't get called often) to light, since I increased my working out. And that puts me at a half pound a week, which I'm very comfortable with, it will be easier for me to reach, and maintain, and to sustain while getting to goal.0

ahhh im soo confused. hahah
heres what MFP gave me-
net cals consumed-1200
fitness goals- cals burned in a week- 840
5 workouts, 35 min
diet profile- cals burned from normal activity- sedetary activity level- 1670
net cals consumed 1200
cal defict 470
weight loss-0.9 pds a week
im not gonna go into it but i dont loose much weight, so LOTS of people onhere said up my daily cal anywhere from 13-1500..obv. i dont want to do that, i eat my exercise cals, but not sure how else i can change it up if im stuck in a rut. alot of people said 1200 for me is too low. idk.0 -
I started in November and have had month long plateaus, so I'm certainly no expert, but maybe you could try to tweak one thing at a time. Keep your calorie intake the same and up your exercise. Or raise your calorie intake and keep your exercise the same. Change nothing and try a different type of exericise. Everyone is different so mess around and see what works for you : )0

Maybe change your goal to a 1/2 pound loss per week. That will increase your net cals a bit, but not much. Maybe try lightly active as well. Or one at a time.
It is very hard and I know you've gotten conflicting information.
I can be wrong, but I would think you should give any changes at least 2 weeks, if not longer, to really see what your body is going to do with it.0 -
get over the higher number and try it for a month. I bet you'll find that you'll lose. We all need to not get stuck on numbers. IF you're hungry and tired and working out your body is telling you to eat more.0
