Quick question - I began JM 30 Day Shred last week - Level 1 and my knees are now killing me. Is this normal? I haven't done it for the past 3 days because my left knee especially is just hurting so much!!!

wondering if this is common?????

I completed level one, I am know on level two. I was definitely soar after the first few days of level 1, are you doing the modified version, follow Anita. Maybe you were doing one of the workouts incorrectly, not sure why your knee would be hurting for three days. Get better and keep going.

the jumping jacks i replaced with running in place, but the getting off the floor can kill knees too...so you just gotta becareful. It is an knee intensive work out. Might want to look into Glucosameen (sp?) for your joints to help it out.

I started on the 7th. Day 1 went fine and I was totally expecting to not be able to walk but it wasn't bad, Day 2 I could feel it in my thighs and it hurt to go down or up stairs and sometimes sit, Day 3 was a little more sore in the thighs, Day 4 was better and Day 5 all gone...No pain to report today.

I would get it checked out it should be getting better especially if you stopped working out.

Make sure you listen to the instructions on form. It's very important to stick you but out on some of those, that helps you keep your knees over the toes. Like...REALLLLLLLY stick it out! I have knee problems too and I find it really helps. Also, I never do the knee circles in the warm-up, they are killer on my joints! Other than that, just listen to your body, if it doesn't feel right, then it's not for you!

the side lunges can mess up your knees if your not in good form. try doing the moves with less "depth" until your muscles supporting your joints get stronger.

Thanks everyone... after reading what all of you wrote and thinking about it - I think I have a better plan on how to do it! Also, I think believe it or not the push-ups (modified version) hurt my knees big time.

I do this workout on hardwood floor with just a yoga mat and I think tomorrow I'm going to try it in another room with cushy carpet and see if that helps.

Again, thanks for the fast advice!
