Japanese Restaurant Calories

Options
I am going to dinner tomorrow night with a friend to a Japanese restaurant and was wondering if anyone knew some good options? I know miso soup and edamame are low in calories. What about a meal though-I was thinking Chicken Teriyaki with steamed veggies.

If anyone could help out that would be great! =]

stay away from the tempura deep fried stuff and you should be okay.

oh yummy! I have no suggestions on what to eat there that will be low calorie, but you will need to pay attention to sodium earlier in the day so you don't go way over tomorrow. Have fun!

Some great, delicious options at Japanese restaurants are:
    - seaweed salads
    - soba (buckwheat) noodles
    - miso soup
    - vegetable sukiyaki
    - Mixed vegetables in broth (Nimono)
    - Stir fry burdock root and carrots (Kimpira)
    - Japanese pickles (Tsukemono)
    - Baked fish entree (Yaki-zakana)
    - Avocado, cucumber, or other vegetarian roll
    - Chilled tofu salad with fresh garnishes (Hiya-yakko)

Japanese restaurants often have really healthy options. Just be cautious of the fried items or those with added oils or fats.

Tempura isn't really all that bad: 50-100 calories per piece. Just eat low-fat for the rest of the day and eat it in moderation, just as a small side order.

When I go for Japanese food I'm more concerned about all the sticky rice, which seems to have even more calories than regular white rice!
