I was told recently that there is a difference between old and new fat. Basically that the newer fat is, the easier it is to shed because its in think even layers on top of the muscle, however the longer you have had fat it become "old" fat and hardens and basically intertwines itself between muscle fibers and is much harder to lose.

Anyone fill me in on what you have hear? or what you know? Thanks.

Oh me and my tummy surely believe it! As low as I got and as lean, the 1st fat I had was on my belly from the kiddos ( Ok the youngest is 23 so it has been awhile) but I tell ya, it is quite comfortable right where it is.:ohwell:

It's not so much old versus new fat but visceral / intra abdominal fat and subcutaneous fat.

Subcutaneous fat is the stuff closer to your skin whereas visceral surrounds internal organs. Visceral fat tends to be harder to lose given it is deeply implanted in body tissue. It is also more dangerous given its links with heart disease, hypertension etc.

If your overall health rather than vanity is your prime concern then lowering levels of visceral fat is key.

If you want to get rid of that viseral fat I suggest HIIT training. Check it out on google.
