As a proud Mommy, I just wanted to share that I have been trying my best to teach my kids how to live healthier lifestyles without too much restriction (I don't want them to get to the point I've got to, nor do I want them to have to worry about "weight" rather than health).... I was so shocked and proud tonight when I went to an indoor track with my parents, sister, and 2 youngest kids.... I put the baby in the ERGO baby carrier, and brought the stroller for my daughter..... The stroller sat at the sideline the entire workout because my 2 year old daughter ran a full mile BECAUSE SHE WANTED TO FOR FUN!!! She pretended that she was chasing us, or that she was playing soccer and running up to a goalie.... She outright refused to go in the stroller. And trule, we did not slow down for her- we were walking very briskly (about 4.0), and she kept up. She did take a potty break and a one lap rest with "Coach"(Grandpa). I just thought that was great for such a small kid. So much fun, and so great to be able to live healthier together with those that mean the most to us!!! Way to go, Princess, don't you ever let exercise feel like work rather than fun!!!!!

Another thing we do, is while my hubby and I weight train, all 3 kids are right there watching us- our 8 year old son is taking interest in proper form now (Though we won't let him weight train yet- not until he's older and it's healthy). Our 8 year old also joins in by running intervals on the treadmill "to see how fast he can go." Both the 8 year old and the 2 year old try to do the shred when my husband and I are doing it..... Just soooo adorable.... Until they look at you and say "So, what's so hard about this, Mom?"

I just wanted to post for any other Mommies or Daddies who want to include their family in workouts, but can't figure out how....

Enjoy your families, and encourage healthy lifestyles from a young age!!!!
