Finally in Control!!!!

In a world where you pretty much cannot control anything....I have finally learned I can control one thing. MY WEIGHT!!! For years I was a yo-yo dieter. Up and down the same 20-30-40lbs. Finally Jan 2010 I had enough. I chose the controversial HCG. While I do not recommend it for everyone, very few actually. (Don't shut down and stop reading just cuz of that)

Anyhow....It was a grueling and strict process but I eventually lost 40lbs in 5 months. (I was not on HCG the whole time, you do it is rounds) But going off of it I would gain a couple pounds back, but even worse I would gain inches (fluff). Even if the scale would not move up my clothes were tighter. I didn't get it.....

Suddenly, a light clicked....Carb/sugar turn to glucose almost immediatly. Glucose is sugar, surgar turns to fat.....fat weighs less that muscle so even if scale not moving, I could be getting larger.

I thought about going back on the HCG, the easy way out (if you can call it that). But I recently had a few health problems and I was not really sure if the HCG had intensified them, so I didn't want to go that route. I needed to figure this out on my own....

So, I began to follow Atkins. Not induction by any means....but MEDIUM carb as I like to call it. I don't do it everyday perfectly, which is the joy of following Atkins. BUT most days I follow it, eating 50-70 NET carbs and I work out on my elliptical 30 min at least 5 days a week along with some light weight training (sculpting is my new passion)

What I have learned is......A) less carbs equals TONS of energy B) less carbs keeps the FLUFF off C) I weigh in almost daily as I keep track of what affects my weight and how yet the only one I really worry about is my Wed weigh in.....D) I MEASURE weekly as well....so make sure fluff is staying off.

What this has helped me gain is....Since doing this for about a month strictly I have lost 5lbs (at my size that is a HUGE amount) and I have lost 5.25 inches all over, but most importantly in my belly, hips and butt.

The hardest part was learning that HCG was not a CURE, it was a tool!!! And like any other diet, if you do not change your life forever, then it will never work long term. Many people who did HCG that I know locally have gained it back.

I will be 35 in 2 months and I am the healthiest I have EVER been. Thanks to all I learned about food and "diet" and working out I plan to keep it that way. Some people tease me for being obsessed, and rediculous with my tracking and weighing and measureing....and I am 100% ok with that, I remain my size and they don't. Many come to me for advise, I give it, but then they don't follow it....Oh well....

All I know is what I have learned, what it can do for me, and how this is my life now.....Now....and Forever....

That is my sucess story....not the weight loss, but the life long lessons I learned and will follow to stay healthy. It is not about the scale....it is about your life......remember that and it will help not get discouraged.

Much Love to you all!!!!
