What's involved in C25K?

Options
I am starting a walk to run program at the end of the month but am not sure exactly what the training is like. I see people talking about Week one, day three or Week two, day one, etc... What is generally involved in training for a 5K? I'm assuming that length of time running and distance is gradually increased on a daily/weekly basis... I've started my own training and can now run a slow mile without stopping. I'm just curious about exactly what I signed up for!! Any info would be great! Thanks.

You run, you walk, you run some more, you walk less.. you run even more, you walk even less... and then you RUN.

Pretty much sums it up neatly, though depending on your fitness level you may replace run with jog.
