Hi Everybody!
My name is Lisa and I'm new to your site. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with Almased protein powder as a meal replacement? Thinking about trying this to help me lose weight. Any suggestions about this, or anything else, would be appreciated! Would love to know what seems to work the best? Thanks everyone, and best wishes!!

Hi,
Thanks for your response! I haven't heard of Shakeology either, but please let me know how it works out. We can help each other.
Take care,

I started Almased yesterday. It doesnt have alot of flavor but not a big deal because it actually made me feel satiated and I figured I would be starving. It kinda has a nutty pankcake batterish tast to it if you mix it thick enough like I did. I'm also going to add Shakeology along with the Almased. Shakeology get delivered today.
Why am I doing this? Well from a nutritional standpoint I have heard amazing things from shakeology. Seen some bold claims from almased. So Im going to do the almased diet and include the skaeology for breakfast all shakes combined will only be 680 calories. Thats a massive calorie deficit....I hope almased does as it claims and really doe tap the fat otherwise muscle mass will diminish which is not what Im looking for - Im simply looking for an alternative method to do basically what the hcg diet does.
But we will see. I will update my post later with beginning measurements.0 -

Dear Mr. Trouille:
This is to advise you that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reviewed your website at www.almased.com, and "The Weight Loss Program" booklet, in January 2012 and has determined that your "Almased®" product, which the labeling indicates is a dietary supplement, is promoted for conditions that cause the product to be a drug under section 201(g)(1)(B) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (the Act) [21 U.S.C. § 321(g)(1)(B)]. The therapeutic claims on your website and in your booklet establish that this product is a drug because it is intended for use in the cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease. The marketing of your product with these claims violates the Act. You can find the Act and FDA's regulations through links on FDA's home page at http://www.fda.gov.0 -

I just bought some of this stuff tonight because it is supposed to curb your appetite as well. A 300lb person told me that they would have one drink and not be hungry for 4-5 hours. So I bought it for breakfasts.
I'm not doing the crazy 2 shakes a day and broth because I'm just using Almased to keep me in my 1700-2000 calorie goal. Obviously if you follow the guide you would lose weight with a huge calorie deficit but I just know from experience that those big deficits are what eventually put me into major binge mode.0 -
I was stuck at my previous weight for 2 months so decided to try Almased. I created a "modified" Bikini Plan for myself - for 5 days I did 3 a day with 2 glasses of tomato juice as snacks. For the next 5 days I did 2 a day with a salad topped with chicken for lunch and 2 glasses of tomato juice. I lost 8 lbs. I found putting in a teaspoon of vanilla (I used plain water and a teaspoon of Walnut Oil) made it taste almost like a very runny vanilla shake. I plan on continuing to drink one for breakfast and going back to my standard eat less - move more plan going forward. There is no way this is a sustainable diet. On my 5th day I broke down and got a skinny lean 1 from Smoothie King for lunch. I'm hoping this gives my metabolism the boost it needed to keep me losing a few pounds a month. BTW - I found it for 19.99 a canister at VitaCost and got a 4% rebate from eBates.0

I only did the three shakes and vegy broth for 5 days now I do two shakes and a healthy meal and two healthy snacks a day doing the shakes helps me not to binge eat.0
-
So I tried the Almased for breakfast today. Had it around 6:15am and stomach started growling around 9am. I was hoping to make it until 11am. Oatmeal with almond butter and berries keeps me satisfied longer, with scrambled egg whites even longer.0

For those of you that have or are trying Almased, can you please tell me how you're doing? Is it working and have you actually lost any weight?
I'm thinking about it because I have quite a bit to lose, starting to have health problems and I didn't even make it 3 days this week (emotional eating last night, grrr) because I lose so slowly. (Some of my meds make it a much slower process so I get discouraged easily.) I thought if maybe I could get that initial 'push', then it might help with willpower/motivation to stay strong.0 -
I am intending to start with Almased tomorrow, but to ease myself in, I will have breakfast, poached egg and toast and replace othere 2 meals with Almased, will keep you updated.0
