Ordering Lunch

So my work is ordering lunch in from a restaurant called Cyn Shea's. They don't post any nutrition info, so just wanted to get some input.
I'm trying to stay around 500 cals, what would you order?

maybe the grilled vegetable sandwich? Or the soup and salad combo?0

The grilled veggie sandwich sounds delicious with no cheese or condiments!0

if you have the ability to order your own food--then you tell them simply that you want a piece of grilled seasoned chicken with lots of steamed veggies---just because its not on the meanu---doesn't mean they can't do it for you. You will have consumed about 350 calories (depending on the size of the chicken).0

It's really hard to gauge nutrition from menus, but I guess the safest would be the vegetable plate - you could do the local veggie, fresh fruit, green salad, and then maybe splurge a little on one of the other fun sides?
Good luck!0 -
Seared salmon salad, dressing on the side
or
rotisserie chicken , spice blend (no skin) & fresh fruit cup0 -
"Seared salmon salad, dressing on the side

but the skin is soooo good
Now I'm hungry.0 -
im a picky eater:
My first choices would be:
roast turkey (cold sandwich) OR
blackened talapia OR
vegetable plate
salads look dangerous depending on the dressing.
Also once I got it I'd consider portion size and probably only eat half. Save the other half for dinner or lunch tomorrow.0 -

I ran into a situation like this recently. First, look for something that you can assume is healthy, like a grilled chicken sandwich and then have it ordered dry so that you can control how much mayo you put on it or substitute spicy brown mustard which is usually very low calorie. The sauces/condiments are where you usually get into trouble with sandwiches.
Second, in order to track the calories I just looked up the item on MFP and tried to see what the avg was on that item. (In other words type in chili cheese burger, grilled chicken sandwich, rib eye steak, etc... and you can see calorie counts for a bunch of different restaurants.) Then pick one of the higher count ones. I would rather overestimate than underestimate. I felt it was better than nothing for tracking my calories.0
