Polar ft4 question

Hi everyone,

Just a question for you. How accurate are HRMs? I have the Polar FT4 and I really like it, but I'm just wondering how accurate the calories burned are....

Appreciate your thoughts.

    It should be within 5-10% of actual burn as over 70% of caloric burn can be attributed to the info in the HRM, and the remaining 30% is calculated using a linear equation which equates to a very accurate, but not exact, estimate of calories burned.

    @Eric, what is that linear equation? Have you posted on it before?

    i have the ft4 also and i think its pretty accurate but just in case i usually round my calories burned down some just to give me a lil extra in case it is off
