How many days a week do you do abs? Can you do them every day or should we take a break (a day) in between like strength training?
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

I do them on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.0

Daily. But I mix up what I do. One day crunches, one day obliques, one day planks, etc.0

Every single day for me.0

1.5 times per week on average. It's not really necessary to work abs too hard because most exercise will have a side affect of working the abs.0

It's odd how people treat abs differently from other muscles. Abs should get a rest day in between workouts like any other muscle. I work mine on weight training days only and not on cardio days...however, during cardio days, my core is almost always engaged to keep good form.0

Agreed. I train abs on weight days 3x's per week.0 -
I did them zero for a while. I hit them while doing squats, but other than that I just avoided them.
Now i work them once, maybe twice a week.
Everyday isn't good tho. They need time to recover.
And you should keep in mind that abs are made in the kitchen. No matter what you do, you won't have abs until you hit around 12 percent bodyfat.
And to one of the posts aboves, abs and obliques are two totall different muscles. Thats like saying I do curls and dips when someone asks how often i work my biceps.0 -

Very true !0 -
3 days a week hard. I already "engage" my abs when I do my weight training. Plus they should be treated like any other muscle group.
I mean, you don't work your triceps everyday so why would you work your abs everyday? it's no different.0 -

Don't remind me!0 -
^^ Thats no reason to not work them. Nothing wrong with having a strong core. Thats the only reason I've started working them more lately. I want a strong body all around.0

I do 2 ab workouts per week- any more than this and I find they don't fully recover enough, especially since I need them to keep myself stable for my heavy squats and deadlifts. I typically do 3-4 exercises, with anywhere from 8-20 reps per set, focusing on different parts and done with different speeds. So, I so sets for my upper and lower abs, lower back and overall core development. I'll do some exercises explosively, others slowly, and I'll also mix in some static holds like planks as well. I also keep the pace of those workouts very fast, resting no more than 30 seconds between sets.0

Since they get worked with most of my other weight lifting exercises, I only focus on them maybe once a week right now. Until I get down to a bodyweight where they can be seen, I don't see the need to concentrate on them too much.0
