I've been reading a lot about getting your body to feel better and de-stressing and de-toxing sounds like a really good plan for a lot of us. It's good to de-tox at LEAST once a year and do some minimal detoxing stuff once a week.

Here are some things to do to de-toxify your body on this day:

Drink only water and green tea.

Fast from all foods except organic veggies in their most natural form.

Take a hot shower (5 minutes hot, 30 seconds cold, 5 minutes hot...etc. for 30 minutes) immediately followed by a thirty minute nap.

Complete an hour of yoga and or meditation in silence.

Use no cleaning products.

Spend two hours out of doors.

Drink at least one cup of green tea.

Refrain from cigarettes, coffee, and alcohol.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to complete this perfectly since I have two small children running around, but let's see if we can do this together!!! As much as we can - for our bodies!

  • i'm all over refraining from using cleaning products

seriously, though, i have been trying to be "cleaner." i did the master cleanse before starting this whole new lifestyle and i really think there is a huge difference.
  • This sounds great! I'd love to join in.

Here's a link to a great article in a recent Men's Health magazine (it was my friend's lol) about a guy who fasts for 36 hours each week. He describes the effects of the fast in great detail and gives advice (like eating a high fiber/protein meal before your fast): http://www.menshealth.com/bestfoods/food_features/The_Worlds_Most_Effective_Diet.php

I just read all 4 pgs. of this article and found it quite interesting. Now I am contemplating doing a 24 hr. fast first before I attempt a 36 hr. one as the article suggests. Maybe a detox like you this Fri and a 24 hr. fast next week?

Thinking about it.........mmm?? What do you think?

Fasting is totally good for your body. Even if it's just from one meal per week. 24 hours is good. If fasting, for longer than 24 hours you'll want to add juices to the mix.
