I've finally accepted that my metabolism is no longer fast!

Hello Everyone!

Yep. I've finally accepted the fact that my metabolism defintitely isn't what it was in my 20's (I'm almost 31)! I could always eat whatever I wanted and do very minimal exercise and still maintain my weight. After I had my boys (ages 4&2), I stayed 10 lbs heavier than my pre-pregnancy weight, but I was okay with that. For some reason I have gained 8 lbs over the past 10 months. Now I'm 18 lbs away and I'm not okay with that anymore! I've never been one that has had to count calories or workout much, so this is all so foreign to me.

  • Your metabolism does start to decrease by 1-2 percent each year after you turn 30. Try to eat healthy and welcome to world of calorie counting and exercise :D

Yeah, I think I can commiserate. I have been slowly trying to retrain my eating habits because I don't have the body of a 20-year-old anymore. (Well, actually, I have the body of 2 20-year-olds, and that is the problem.)

Wouldn't it be nice if our appetite naturally grew weaker as we grew more mature?

I turn 30 this year and I have noticed a difference, BUT with some serious increase in excerise I have helped my metabolism speed back up. You must excerise hard core....You should be doing at least 60-90 minutes of cardio a day....don't give up you can achieve your goal. NO PAIN NO GAIN.
