I was just given a LOT of frozen ostrich to try. I've looked up stats, and it seems to be healthy. Any suggestions on how to cook it or what to eat with it? Anyone try it before?

I have not even heard of them... you should post pics when you cook them!

Ostrich is EXTREMELY low fat... so low fat that most recommend adding a little oil to it if you're cooking it without other liquids (i.e. on the grill, broiled, roasted, etc). Just a light brush of olive oil is perfect.

If the recipe calls for poultry or beef, substitute the ostrich and add a tiny bit of olive oil to the recipe.

Ground ostrich is a great beef substitute in spaghetti sauce and chili. Roast it, stew it, braise it, sautee it...

edit to add: Also... it's really REALLY yummy too.
