I know that some are better then others. Since I'm not a meat eater or seafood eater (not a vegan either)....just curious

Also...what are the ramifications of having too much protein?

Not sure which fruits are better. My understanding all fruits are great I am a fan of them all:laugh: . But the whole protein thing drives me nuts. I did not have enough so I started eating high protein bars and then went over I can not win!!

You would have to try pretty hard to go enough over on your protein to cause trouble. Also, MFP has the percentage of protein set relatively low by default.

I'm not sure that any food actually "burns fat". . .but I would look for low GI fruits and vegetables and keep the fibre content high.

High fiber green vegetables: Broccoli, spinach, green leaf lettuce (NOT iceburg), kale, etc.

While fruits contain a lot of beneficial nutrients, they are not the "best" choice for maximizing fat loss. If you must have fruit, grapefruit and berries (blueberries). Bananas are one of the worst and their GI changes as they ripen (turn brown).

I HAVE TO chime in here on the banana comment. Their glycemic LOAD is more relevant (as with any food) and the GL and GI of bananas launch them into totally different categories where favourability is concerned. They're also loaded with many critical nutrients with high bioavailability. And as a side note, I've gone from eating almost no bananas to anywhere between .5 and 2 a day and have lost almost 24lbs in 8 weeks. Just had to toss that out there. I know this is about the "best" options but I can't see "bananas" and "worst" in a sentence like that and not say something :blushing:
