Feel the burn

When you do core workout do you "feel the burn" like you do when you work your legs, arms, etc? I do all types of ab exercises for 15-20 at a time and never feel the ache of actually accomplishing something like I do when I do the other muscle groups. You know the day after and it hurts to move because you worked a certain muscle group.....I don't have that with my abs. What's up with that? ALSO I've had two personal trainers and have had several instructors in many classes to ask for guidance and when I ask they pay attention and say I'm doing the exercise they ask correctly so that's not the problem.

I think I read somewhere that abs recover more quickly than muscles elsewhere. Not sure if it's true but I work mine every day and they don't ache afterwards but I can definitely feel it whilst exercising.

I've never heard that so I started to research and sure enough I've found several articles on the fact that abs recover more quickly. I have been doing a core workout 2-3 times a week but most articles say 3-5 days a week is needed to get a toned tummy so I guess I'll add an ab workout to my daily trip to the gym. I kinda feel it when I do the exercises but still not like in the other muscle groups, I wonder if it's because we use the core more so than other groups in our daily lives?? Anywho......here's a link on what I found if anyone is interested: http://www.ehow.com/way_5382251_abdominal-strengthening-exercises.html

I had the same problem as you then I tried myotatic crunches on a Bosu ball with a weight. I hurt sooo much the next day (and for three days later!) I was terrified of sneezing! That said, I didn't feel the burn so much at the time, only afterwards.
