eating more?

Supposedly my trainer has said that sitting still all day with limited activity I burn 1300 calories therefore if I consume 1300 and work out and burn 500 I should be all set. You think eating more would help? or maybe I should cut back on the workouts. I do high intense workouts (ie. kickboxing, spinning, step).

you should track based on your BMR.

Your BMR is calories you'd burn if you did nothing all day (i.e. if you were in a coma). But you need to eat more than that if you are walking around, even just walking to your car or to the bahtroom, doing the dishes, etc.

to get a good idea of how much you should eat, you should multiply your BMR by 1.2 if you are sedentary, or 1.5 if lightly active, and so on.

fat2fitradio has a pretty good BMR calculator up here: http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/bmr/ that figures it out for you. It even tells you how much to eat to lose weight.

    Good luck!

If the numbers are right, I'd stick with what your trainer said. Sounds good to me. I eat about 1300, and then try to exercise on most days, and I have been losing weight. Sure, you can eat more. Your progress will be slower, but sometimes that stops people from binging or pig outs if they just increase a little, like say 1500 per day.
