Hi Everyone,

I am new, have been using the program for almost two weeks. I have lost just about 6 pounds so far. I am very over-weight, 5'7" and weigh around 341. I had lost about 60 pounds on my own, not feeling good, gallbladder issues, and life, death of my mom and sister over a three year period. After doing that and feeling so much better, I kept it off for about two years, then this passed fall, starting gaining again. I guess my lowest weight was 320 and my highest was about 380. I have always been over-weight and now that I realize I was starting to gain it again and just had my first grandchild, I knew something had to be done. Just doing this program has opened up my eyes to how many calories are in the food we eat. I am the person at work that hardly ever eats (according to the people I work with). I am not crazy about sweets but I do live with my husband (who works construction and is not overweight and my 23 year old son, who is). They both like to go out to dinner and they both like sweets. I have made a rule of no junk in the house during the week but on the weekends it always comes in. Just wanted to say hi, and so far this has really been an eye-opener for me. As for exercise, I have some knee issues that do get better with weight loss, so for now I use a stability ball and an elliptical when I can. I am looking forward to some life changing positive results with this plan. Good Luck to everyone.

Hi Hollydeb, welcome to the boards!

Good luck in your journey, there are tons of wonderful people here! Check out the support section, join a group, start a blog, invite people to be your friend (add a message, it helps your acceptance ratio  ).

The biggest tips I can offer are 1) Weigh, measure and log everything that you ingest and 2) eat most of your exercise calories and most importantly 3) be patient. If you follow MFP the way it's set up, you will lose weight and hopefully, you'll learn some new habits along the way to help you keep it off.

    Good luck! :flowerforyou:

Welcome! I know what you are going through. I'm 5'1" and my highest weight was 233. I had lost about 60lb and gained 50lb of it back. I've only been on this site for 3 weeks now, but had started my jorney for weight loss and healthyness on January 2010. I have lost 43lbs and i'm at 180 now. I still have like 60lbs to go. This site is amazing and you will love it. We all know what you are going through and we will be here for you. So friend as many people as you can including me!
