My protein is always high!

Well, I used to worry about my carb intake a lot, but since I started MFP I've been able to keep it in check- however I seem to consistently push my protein into the red; sometimes like 100 over the recommended number. I wonder if this is bad? Usually the numbers are high b/c of things like a couple of hard boiled eggs in the AM (fills me up great) or even a turkey burger for dinner. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I push mine into the red regularly based on the initial mfp numbers so long as you are not exceeding 1 g for every pounds of body weight you are fine. I adjusted mine to a 40/30/30 split as my body works much better off that than what mfp starts you out with.

I'm pretty sure any protein not used by the body just gets through your digestive system and out as opposed to stored anywhere.

as far as i'm concerned, your protein SHOULD be in the red! especially if you're using amounts MFP gave you from the beginning... I try to get at least 100g a day of protein, and men need more than women!

outside of maybe causing a bit of constipation, the protein will pass without any storage/damage. It may just mean your body metabolizes quickly, because proteins and fats take the longest to break down/keep us full longest. So it is just speeding your metabolism up if anything, just make sure you keep your carbs over 50g to balance and you'll be just fine. hey, if you wanna bulk, you can easily do that with your extra protein haha :D

you could replace one of your protein sources with a fruit or vegetable instead, that should help bring the total down.
