Dairy Free Sour Cream Options

I reposted this because I realized my subject line made zero sense.
I know that sounds like an oxy moron.....but due to a dairy allergy I can't use the pint of sour cream that's called for in a recipe. I know there are dairy free options to popular dairy products (milk, yogurt, cream cheese, sour cream, etc). I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations for brands. I used Tofutti before I just didn't know if there was another brand that someone like better? The sour cream will be in a casserole but taste is still important. I have found Cabot cheese which is lactose free and that will be perfect for the cheese in the dish! I find that soy cheese just doesn't melt well.
Thanks for any suggestions anyone has!
Hmmm when quickly googling dairy free sour cream it states that due to the nature of sour cream the lactose enzyme is no longer present or has been broken down or something like that....does anyone know if this is the case? I know creams (like whipping cream and cream cheese) make my husband sick due to his allergy to dairy.
