On occasion I will eat on the go, I will make a good selection, but how do I track the calories on my site? Do I guess? What do you all do?

For example: Half a turkey sandwich with artichoke spread on wheat? I'm clueless.

Estimate the amount of meat, as in was the turkey equal to a deck of cards? The size of your fist? Then you can figure out the ounces of meat. The bread is easy enough to log a hard roll, slice of bread, or whatever it was on. As for a spread like that, I usually Google for something similar online, and worst case, just wing it and give my best guess of what was in it. If it seems heavy mayo based, I'd just log full fat mayo.

Ask them what they put on the Snadwiches. Most of the time they will tell you, even with close approximations of weights of meat/ veggies and what type of condiments.

Just tell them you need it to track your calories, and they will help. At least that has been my experience.

I usually do it ingredient by ingredient. Put in your meat, your bread, toppings, then sauce. I just break it down like that.

I've just looked up the type of bread, turkey breast, dressing and entered them separately. Close is better than not entering at all. :-)

You will probably need to guess. You should be able to look up the parts that make up the sandwich and get the calorie count for each item.

Like a slice of turkey deli meat might be about 30 calories + number of slices = ?
Whole wheat bread is about 60-70 calories a slice
Plus what other items in the sandwich. (cheese, mayo, etc)

Here is a nice site that you can use to look up for reference.

Breakdown one ingredient at a time. So you'll have to log the avocado, turkey, and bread all separate. Good healthy fats in avocado--good choice!!
