Always handy to make sure your heart isn't going to explode :D

Anyway, I just received my HRM. I ordered the Timex T5G971 from Amazon. Though I've heard that the Polar ones are the best.
I just needed to see how many calories I am burning on an average :)

I love my HRM They can be kind of expensive but I think its worth it. I have a Polar FT7.I paid a little over $100 for it.It tells me how many calories I burn and stores up to 2 weeks worth of data along with other features. You can probably find an inexpensive one on Amazon or even on Ebay.I tell you I cannot work out without mine I feel naked without it. Good Luck check out www.polarusa.com

I picked up a Polar F4 on Amazon for under $70 and really like it. During your workout there are several views: heart rate, calories burned, time, and zone range with heart rate. All of which are easily accessed-- very user friendly. When you are finished it shows the duration of your workout, how many calories you burned, average heart rate, maximum heart rate, and the duration you were in your zone. It stores your data also. I find the burn to be much different than the treadmill and MFP database. I had some concerns about the chest strap. It took a couple times for me to find the best way to wear it under my sports bra, and now I do not even know it is there

If you type in "heart rate monitor" in the forum search you will find FIFTY pages of forum posts regarding heart rate monitors, many of which have been posted in the past 48 hours. I'm surprised that the programming cannot be tweaked to consolidate some of these because it seems like there are 3-4 of them every single day and I've only been on for about three weeks.
    Good luck!

I just recently got a used Polar F3 from ebay for 30 bucks (last minute bidding YEAY!!). I love it, it works GREAT!.. MFP is a good guide but its not a true to you guide on burned calories. Then you can cross refference the calories burned with the ones that are in MFP.. Hope this helps..
