Today when I picked up my son from wrestling practice, the coach was talking about how they are a team and how a team is a group of people who support each other. They are friends on and off the mat. That they are each other shoulder and backbone. There is no wrong question.
He brought this up because a couple of the boys got into a fight. He really hit the nail on the head. I hope they understood.
What I am getting at is that this group at MFP is a prime example of just that. A TEAM. And as a team we can accomplish anything.
Thank you for being my team mates.:flowerforyou:

I would like to be on this Team!

Let's talk...I would like to hear all of your goals...what you like to eat...when and how you exercise...etc...etc!

This is your Fat Dancer here from Imperial Beach, CA

I'm 50 years of age and @ 170lbs...goal is about 130ish or a size 6/8...I'm a Mother/Grandmother...I live with my Boyfriend and we have his 10 year old daughter stay with us frequently...I let myself go and now I'm working towards getting fit and happy with myself again...I've found that I have to be a little selfish to make time for myself...otherwise, I just take care of everyone else and neglect myself.

I'm learning about diet and nutrition, I have to keep my intake to 1200 calories in order to loose about a pound a week.

I've found that I love bellydance for exercise...I also weight train a tiny bit and practice Fluidity...I'm not getting enough exercise yet...have trouble staying consistent...I do always make it to my dance class once a week.

I'll be watching this topic...hope to hear from you ladies!

P.S. - What do you all think about asking Mike if he could add chat rooms to this site?

You ever wonder how they get the cats to sit still for that or do you think it's all pasted together. Team MFP Losin It. I dont' know I'm bad when it come to picking names otherwise I would have a cool one of my own.~Karen

That picture is one I got in an email. It went something like this…..
This is what happens when you have drank too much tequila, 1 really big lime and 1 very patient cat.
By the way that cats whiskers look that lime is on that cats head for real. I could be wrong but that is what it looks like to me. Cats don’t like citrus. A lot of people use orange peals around their Christmas trees to keep their cats away from the tree. My cats ate our Christmas tree so we took it down and never put one up since. It wasn’t wroth making our fur babies sick over. We decorated out side until people started stealing the decorations. Now we don’t decorate inside or out. It is just my husband and myself. He works all the time and I am not able to handle it all by myself so it works for us.
I have tones of funny cat pictures (as well as other funny pics) I just add them like any other picture. I have some really funny monkey pictures I like to use in my messenger and other places too.

my goal is to live a long and healthy life. To watch my kids grow, and see their kids, to keep up with my 12 and 3 year old, to look sexy in a pair of tight jeans and a leather tank when riding on the back of my husbands harley. I want to have a body kind of like what I had when I was in high school. I was a swimmer and I was tone and muscular. I won't to look in the mirror and say, "Wow you look good". When I reach my goal weight which is about 70 more pounds to go, I am going to the beach and I am going to play with my kids in a swimsuit and feel good about myself. I am also going to go the the Harley store and buy a leather tank top and wear it to street vibrations in Reno, NV and wear the tight jeans and chaps, and feel sooooo sexy.
With the support of all of you, I know that I can do it.

I want to live long enough to see my grandchildren. My 32 year old son and his wife of almost 2 years don’t have any children yet and are not planning on having any anytime soon.
I also want to be able to keep on wearing all the clothes that I have bought. I have spent a young fortune on clothes (and shoes *giggle*). I have tons of things I haven’t even worn yet….but I will….and soon too….at least I hope I will wear them soon.
I also want to just get well right now and feel better….and I will. I was hoping for a better day today but that is being dashed it looks like. But hey….the day is young and anything is possible. I am going to keep a positive attitude and get my fanny in there on the treadmill. Then I am going to take a nice hot shower and go to Wally World so I can buy the makings for the Hearty Vegetable Soup that I found in the October issue of Good Housekeeping. The basic soup alone is only 45 calories per cup and should freeze well. They have several different ways of adding ingredients to make it into different soups. There is nothing like a nice hot bowl of soup on a cold winters day.
I agree 100% as a team we CAN accomplish anything!
So here’s to us! :drinker: (that's green tea in those cups)

Girlfriend go buy that outfit and hang it where you can see it everyday! It will do wonders for you to see yourself getting closer and closer to fitting in it. I am going to go get that one special sweater out of my closet now and hang it where I can see it….I may even wiggle in it just for the heck of it too *giggle*

Have Great Day you big bunch of losers!!
Yep we are losers and very glad to be just that.....Losers! :flowerforyou:

Hi smessersmith, so how long have you been bellydancing? I have only been doing it a year and I'm not too faithful to the exercise part. Where do you find your belly dancing clothes. My daughters and I keep sewing some of our outfits. I had to make a hip scarf that didn't jingle because I have a person who works nights and that way I can practise when the mood takes me. It has done wonders for my balance. I have to be careful about some of the twists still. But we have a really good time when all of get together. I have 3 grown daughters (27,24,21) and they all love to dance. We took class together until the teacher wanted the others to go on and I hadn't progressed enough for her to let me go further. That kind of killed it for us being together. So we will have to just workout together instead of the class. I love your picture. When I feel confident enough I will stick one of me up with an outfit we put together. Great to have you on our team!

I am 54 years old (I tell people that I am 12 *giggle*) I saw a bumper sticker once that said it is never too late to have a happy childhood so that is what I am doing.

I have been married for 36 years. We have one 32 year old son who is married. He and his wife have moved back to Arkansas from Colorado where they both were working since they got out of collage. Both her family and ours are so happy to have them back closer to home. I use to go to Colorado for Thanksgiving and I loved the snow. This is the first Thanksgiving I have not been in snow in a very long time. But having them here is better then any snow ever was. Yes I love the snow even thought I did get stranded at the airport from time to time because of it.

I use to weigh 311 pounds. I lost 171 pounds. I have put a few pounds back on but not many and I want it to stay that way. I am still wearing the same clothes I have been wearing for quite sometime now so I don’t think it is all “real” weight. I have lost 8 pounds since I left the hospital after the tests last Tuesday. It was fluid…so I am thinking more of this is fluid as well.

I have lost that much weight twice. The first time I lost 174 pounds and gained it all back. I refuse to gain it back this time. If I gain it back again I will be back in the wheel chair. That was not a life I want to go back to. I have and have had for many years multiple health issues. My body has betrayed me and it is trying to do it to me again….but dang it…..I am not going to let it do it to me again. I am older now and I am going to fight it tooth and nail. I will win this old ugly battle!!

I went from a size 30 eased fit jeans to a size 8 slim cut.

Dancer (I am not going to call you what you called yourself) you are not being selfish you are taking care of your health. Look at it that way. So you just keep on keeping on hun. You are doing great.

I have been away from here for awhile but I am back now and with any luck I will be here for a good while longer.

I love this site and the food log is the best. The people here are awesome and so supportive. I am so glad to be here with all you folks.

 OK come on everyone “Group Hug” !!

A little tidbit here…..this past April…..I wore my wedding dress that I got married in when I was 17 years old 36 years ago. I walked across the stage at SRD in that dress. I never in my wildest dream thought I would ever fit in that dress again….but I did and I have pictures too *Big Grin*
    OK….I’m out of here…..

That is the dress. You can't tell much about it there the picture is so small. I was totally stunned that I got it zipped and it fit again. My mother made it. When my parents died I was at my largest. They never got to see me lose any of the weight. We lost them both February 4th of 2000.

Greetings Team Mates...Thank you so much for welcoming me!

I love hearing what you all have to say...

Loretta-Jo, So sorry for the loss of your parents, what emotions you must have felt when you got back into your wedding dress that your Mother made for you...I'm happy your kids are close to home again...My Son and his family live in England so I don't get to see them every year...They just spent September with me...I loved it so much! Loretta, your weight loss is tremendous...size 8 Slim, you're my hero!

Icandoit, I hope you'll post a picture for us when you get into your sexy "Biker Chic" Jeans...I love bikes as well...I'm glad you wear jeans under your chaps...have you ever been at a rally and seen those young girls who just wear thongs under their chaps? It's a wonder they don't have road grease all over their behinds!

Kjllose, What a thrill you have all of your daughters dancing...I just recently was able to get my boyfriend's daughter interested...I took her to a show and now she wants to take lessons with me...I just wear yoga pants and crop tops to practice/workout at home...I only wear a coin scarf when I go to class...Bravo, fashioning your own costumes is the most artistic way to go...but if you still want to buy some items you can search for bellydance costumes and accessories online...there are so many, you just have to find the ones you like...I've been dancing for a couple of years and am still at the beginner level as well...we are a work of art in progress...Shimmy On!

Thank you again Ladies...I'll check back on Monday...Have a Great Weekend Losers! (Loretta taught me to say that, tee hee hee)

    Yours,
    Fat Dancer
