I went backpacking for 3 days this weekend for my birthday.
I weighed myself before putting my pack on. I was 145.
Then I weighed myself with my big pack full of gear. I was 168. But get this...
I used to weigh 182! .... Even with a big pack on, I still weighed almost 15 lbs less than I used to!!
How did I ever manage to do serious hiking with all that extra weight? Just crazy!:noway:

    Isn't that funny how it puts things in perspective. Yesterday I spent the day with my 12 month old grandson... he weighs 20 pounds. While carrying him around I thought.... hmmmmm I used to walk around with 40 extra pounds--- enough weight to be the same as carrying TWO him.
    No wonder I had no energy!!!!!
