I work part time at a local pet shop, and I love it! But it's part time, and I've wanted to pick up another part time job to pretty much earn some spending money for myself! I interviewed at a local grocery store I frequent, and it looks like fun, easy, laid back work. Limited stress, it's really small, just a cute little place. I also interviewed at Outback, because I've waitressed in the past and made BANK. But. The last time I waitressed I also ate a lot of the food we served. So a lot of chicken fingers with honey mustard, burgers, etc. Lots of suuuper greasy food and such. I was offered a job at Outback, and I'm waiting to hear back from the grocery store.

I know I can make money at Outback, but I also know the stresses involved with the job. I was typically the first one to be like "SELF CONTROL GOD!!!" but it's not easy. When I'm on break at a restaurant, you can't leave typically. So I end up eating there because it's easy.

The grocery store, while it is part time, the manager told me he thought I'd fit in great, and the good employees pretty much make their own schedule.

I know the money would be better at Outback, as regards $$ per hour, but I also really feel like the grocery store will be better for me. It seems like it's less stressful, easy going, I can have a set schedule to work with the pet shop, it just seems like a better choice for me right now.

It's really hard for me to decide, because money is a sensitive issue for me for some reason. Any positive opinions would be greatly appreciated :)

wow I have worked in the restaurant since I was 5 and would love to blame my weight but I know it is me alone that controls this now I have managed for the last 22 years and recently became unemployed as the lease expired and the owner had no locations near my home.I have found it easier to diet away from the industry but I have met a lot of people who stay in control of their wt.But I would say the grocery job may be easier to control eating but still has temptations where as the outback is fast volume and that can be a good cal burn but the guess comes to what feels better for you both have positives especially the schedule making hey good luck
