One of the best resources I learned about in nutrition class? Mypyramid.gov

That's right - the government! The USDA controls our food safety and puts all kinds of money into research, so why not listen to advice straight from the people spending millions?

Some awesome things on the site:

- personalized balanced food plans (tells you how many fruits, grains, vegetables, dairy, and protein servings you need per day for YOUR body)
- articles on everything!
- sample menus
- plans for pregnant or nursing moms
- suggestions and learning tools for your kids
- links to GREAT - and best of all RELIABLE - weight loss resources http://www.mypyramid.gov/STEPS/formoreinformation.html
- podcasts
- printable guides
- FREE guides by mail

They actually have a food and exercise tracker on there too, but you have MFP for that!!

Awesome! I love the personalized suggestions on how much grain, vegetables, etc. to get each day as a breastfeeding mom. Thanks for the suggestion!

I remember learning about this in PE class a long while back, as well as my nutrition class I had to take as well. If I remember right we used http://www.mypyramidtracker.gov/ portion of it to show us what we were eating too much of and what we needed more of.

It is actually more helpful than most people would think.

    ^ Agreed.

Those who don't like it... What specifically do you not like? Because it just sounds like you hate the government... but that doesn't mean it has bad nutrition advice.
