So my hubby has his 9-5 job plus we just started our own home improvement business so most dinners he is not home. So that leaves me to try and cook a decent meal with a 6 month old, 7 yr old, and 8 yr old. I need something that is quick and easy to cook before the little one starts crying but yet something that my other two children would eat....oh and keep in mind that it needs to be healthy.

I am sure that most of you have your favorites and I would love to hear some!!!!

Hey girlie! I missed you today. My heart is all funky again so I am doing NOTHING. Errrr...that is after I did 90 minutes of water aerobics. LOL

    So anyway...

    - Cook some chicken in chunks on the stove...maybe four large breasts
    - Pour a can of mandarin oranges minus the juice into the pan for a quick heat (do not stir too much or they will break up)
    - Pour Teriyaki Honey sauce into little saucers about 2 tablespoons
    - Sprinkle sesame seeds into sauce

Give everyone some chicken and let them use their fork (or toothpicks to make it more fun) and dip their chicken into the sauce and eat the oranges! YUM! My kids and hubby like this recipe. It is a knock off of a "Tastefully Simple" recipe. :flowerforyou:

Sweet potato fries are always a hit in my house-spray with Pam and then sprinkle with just salt and pepper, or salt and chili powder, or cinammon.

Scrambled eggs are usually never turned down. Neither are breakfast sandwiches made with Thomas whole wheat english muffins, low fat cheese, and egg, and a piece of fried low-fat ham. Serve with some fruit.

What could be easier than frozen veggies-and with all the different combos, it's hard to get bored with plain old peas and beans. (though my kids like just about any veggie with Smart Balance and a little garlic powder and salt)

I like to make up a bunch of whole wheat muffins with maybe shredded carrot and crushed pineapple, blueberry, or chopped peaches and cinammon. With the eggs, whole wheat flour and fruit they are very healthy. Just be sure not to add tons of sugar or oil-most recipes recommend way more than needed and you only need about 2 Tablespoons of fat per recipe.

Whole wheat Boboli pizza crust, topped with low-fat cheese. Let kids add their own turkey pepperoni, pineapple, or other veggies.

I tend to make lots of soups with leftovers-scraps of leftover meats, beans, lots of onions and celery, whole wheat pasta or brown rice, and again, throw in any combo of frozen veggies (we really like frozen spinach). Serve with toast and a glass of milk and you have the perfect meal.

Hope these help! I don't always stick to typical "supper" foods-whatever is in the fridge and looks good, be it waffles or chicken.
