One week, no exercise, just diet control. TIPS?!

So, I have been working my butt off, changing up exercising, eating right, drinking water blah blah (I know this is important but after a 5 week plateau it becomes "blah blah")
Anyway, Ive decided to give myself a week off from working out and focus on my diet, does anyone have any suggestions? Or things I should focus on this week in regards to my intake? How about low sodium foods-do they exist?
Any help would be great because I am miserable

when i did this i ended up cutting my carbs really low. mainly cut out 'bready' things. i still ate fruit...but just watched my 'heavier bready' carbs if that makes any sense and just tried to eat really 'clean' foods...nothing really processed
and my other thing was water...drank like a camel!0 -
I was thinking of doing the same thing, Most likely because it's the end of the semester and I'm overwhelmed with the amount of work that needs to be done within the next few weeks and finding the time and energy to exercise is going to be difficult. So I was going to focus on my diet instead and try and get this scale to move in the right direction!0

It may be exactly what your body needs with the level of burns you get in girl!! Your body might need a rest to get refocused and then to hit it back again in a week could jolt it into submission!!
The typical things though..I'd drink just as much as you would on days your working out. From what I've seen over the weeks with your diary, you do a good job of keeping the sodium down which is awesome (sodium is my vice!!) I'd just increase your fruits and veggie intake to get in some extra goodness.0 -
I haven't worked out for 2 weeks now (apart from daily walking - which burns aprox 100 cals) and I have still lost 3lbs...
The trick I find is to plan in advance, that way you can pick the most 'calorie valuable' options. I tend to eat lots of veggies and salad, measure my carbs and eat white meat - I can easily stick to 1200 / 1300 cals per day without feeling hungry.0 -
In my experience of losing weight...fruits and veggies have always been the key for me. Whenever I UP them considerably...I tend to lose. I eat raw red bell peppers/celery daily with hummus or Tzatziki...both I've become hooked on. (Cedar's brand is yummy)
I watch my sodium and use Mrs Dash SPICY blends because I need flavor if I'm eating broccoli or zucchini...I use parm cheese for my veggies too...I try to only use a tablespoon at a time because of sodium.
I toast Ezekiel "low sodium" (even though its got 0 sodium) sprouted bread...with almond butter and honey or with weight watchers cream cheese (the sodium is also lower in this cc than Philly)
I snack on KIND fruit and nut bars because they are filling-and they help my sweet tooth...I eat mostly strawberries and apples because thats what I like....
and I eat the heck out of egg whites and make a big egg white frittata sometimes in the morning and eat that for breakfast and lunch (I usually use tomato-any green veggie-parm-and a few sprinkles of goat or feta)
oh and finally, if something unexpected comes up (like I went to lunch to hubby etc) more than likely my sodium would be over-and then usually I try to compensate by having a yogurt/fruit smoothie for dinner. If it was dinner-the next day when I wake up I have the smoothie....makes me feel better lol
Hope this gives you at least ONE idea for trying something new LOL

Those ideas are great! It is always good to change it up once in a while, or your body gets used to what you are doing. I agree with the more veggies and fruit suggestion. You can eat and it doesn't mess with your calories as much. All you can do is try and find out what works for your body. You will find what makes sense, trial and error. You've done a great job already, and you will get there. Good Luck!0
