Hey everyone,
This is my third day and I am so excited to be doing this. It feels great to know that others are in the same boat as I am. I am learning so much by reading other posts and just taking the time to learn about myself and my horrible eating habbits. I have a problem with not eating during the day and then totally binging at night. My portions are way out of controll as is my weight. I am undergoing breast reduction surgery in June and I hope this helps me get up and moving without all the back discomfort. I am at 230lbs now and would like to get down to 180 for my first goal. I have tried all the diest before so the buddy system on this sight is a welcome change from going it alone. Plesae feel free to give me advice or just say hey. I need all the help I can get.

Welcome aboard!! This is a great site for motivation and help with your journey. I will add you as a friend.
  • Welcome and good luck! I have been on here for over 3 months and have lost 21 pounds. It does work! I found that just being aware of what you are eating makes a big difference. I notice now that i am craving the healtier food and don't even like the fried foods anymore. I am making healthier choices at restaurants and it's because they sound better than the usually unhealthy choices.

Welcome aboard. I joined MFP a couple of days before my 5th anniversary that included a big dinner! Oh well, I did go four days before having a cheat day! Like you I had/have a horrible eating diet. Even though I walk on average 3 miles a day at work and another 3 miles with my dog I rarely lost any weight because I just over-ate.

At 1st I ate pretty much whatever I always ate, just less. I never went over my calorie count. That alone showed immediate results and now some 180 days later I eat less and I am eating better for the most part. The past month I have traveled and went out a lot so I have stalled my weight loss. I knew what I was doing though so it's OK...

The key is to not be hard on yourself. You didn't put the weight on in one day and it won't go away in one day :)
