As my MFP friends know I have been going through some stuff with my ADHD meds. I was on Concerta and it would give me these huge headaches. After doing some research I found out that a lot of Concerta users suffer from this, plus I was angry/grumpy all the time while on it.
I talked to my doc and he switched me to Ritalin. First few days were amazing not including the 3-4 lbs of water weight it helped me lose. After about a week I started to feel really tired and just well mellow and not caring at all, I had no drive to work out what so ever. At least on my Concerta I had the drive to workout.
2 days ago I just said that I don't need this. I stopped cold turkey. Surprisingly no real focus issues at work but I do feel really tired now and that's with 9-11 hours of sleep under my belt but I have been pigging out lately at night. Yesterday for instance I caught myself dosing off twice at my desk which I havent felt in oh lets say 3-4 years. I really want to get back on track but I am just frustrated.
Maybe I dont have ADHD and I just don't get into things I am not interested in such as my work, and most of my school work.
As for why we think I have ADHD was when I was in HS and college I would excel greatly in classes that I enjoyed and did terribly in the ones I didn't care about but when tested in those classes that I didn't like I still did amazingly well. My parents and teachers thought I just didn't apply myself but it was cause I could care less about that class.
Same went for college. I started in engineering, changed to archtecture then to business. Graduated with my degree in business then got a degree in automotive, then one in fluid mechanics/dynamics.
I just dont know right now I am so frustrated as to what I should do about my lack of energy and does anyone else have any personal experiences with ADHD and how you felt after you stopped taking your meds?

Try Strattera - I had a horrific year last year and was prescribed it for anxiety. It's stimulant-free, but helps me focus and relax It's for adult ADD, but it's been very helpful for me to stay driven at work and not focus on the stress-inducing, negative things going on around me.0
