So here I am busting my *kitten* for the past 3 months and have nothing to show for it. All this time I hear people telling me well, don't worry, Muscle weighs more than fat so you must just be gaining muscle. I also see that same phrase on here as well. Point is my measurements haven't changed, my clothes still fit or dont fit the same way, and guess what people....1 pound of Muscle = 1 pound of Fat. It's the classic what weighs more a pounf of bricks or a pound of feathers. Yeah my sodium was way up there, but there is no way that I am retaining pounds of water.......

I know it sucks when you don't see results, but hang in there...you might just have a huge loss if you stick with it.0

Need some more information 1) what are you doing for exercise and how often? 2) I took a peak at your diary and there are some days there isn't a dinner logged. Did you not eat dinner or did you just not log it?0

Even though 1 lb = 1 lb, fat is fluffy and bulky and muscle is tight and small. You WILL be smaller the more muscle you build; it's counter-intuitive.
Are you doing steady state or interval training? I'm telling you, switching it up every few days or at least every few weeks is the way to make your body keep guessing. If you google "interval training," there is a great site that has a lot of interval workouts that you can do at home or the gym.
Good luck, don't give up!0 -
From a quick view over your diary it looks like you have not been logging everything including water intake, and without that specific info its hard to give you rock solid advice, on some days you are way under, some close, some days are very little logged at all. Sodium is harder to get under control, but I do not see hardly enough fiber in your diet, very few veggies, and there is definitely room for improvement. I would be happy to work with you on that bud but I need you to do at least a weeks worth of logging everything faithfully.0

Judging from your diary, your caloric deficit is way to high. You need to eat to lose.0

I peeked at your diary, too, and had the same question. Also, alot of your foods look like they are processed/restaurant food (I looked for the past few days). Have you thought about cooking more from scratch- you'll get more nutrients, less sodium, and it will probably be lower calories. It will be easier to eat to loose weight. For example, steel cut oats versus instant oatmeal, or fresh veggies with lunch, etc.
Also, do you exercise daily? That will help tons!
Good luck!

Maybe one way to look at it is to look at how much you've acheived performance-wise. Like being able to run further/faster or lift more. These are still improvements to celebrate!0

there are alot of factors that could be contributing to your lack of loss
are you sticking to your calorie limits, are you eating too much...or maybe not enough??, are you weighing foods to be sure your portion sizes are correct? do you exercise?? if so what kind and how much??0 -

Well said my friend! And yes fiber and water are HUGE in weightloss!0 -
I have not looked at your food diary, but it is very, and I mean VERY, important to log carefully. That means weighing and measuring all the food you eat and recording it at MFP. If it enters your mouth it needs to be logged. Without you doing that there is nothing we can really do to help you. We can throw things out there, but none of it will necessarily be what you in particular need.
I found this a very informative article that was posted here by someone else. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/217761--unexplainable-fat-loss-plateaus-explained-tom-ve It points out many of the things that can cause a person to plateau. Maybe it will help you determine what is up with you.
I echo the question of what you are doing for a workout. I would suggest Interval training, especially High Intensity Intervals. I would also suggest incorporating some strength training. If you don't have a gym membership, use body weight exercises. You can go a long way with that. Good resources I have found are bodyweightculture.com and the book "You Are Your Own Gym" by Mark Lauren. If you want something challenging try the free program from bodyweightcoach.com I have it and it will kick your behind. It also is the sort of workout that will boost your metabolism for hours (up to 36 or 38 hours) afterward.0 -
Just saw this post from someone else on here, that answers some questions about why you can start exercising and not see results right away (or even gain weight)

This. You're diary is all over the place. You need to log faithfully for at least a week to get a good baseline.0 -

I have to disagree with your last statement. You Can in fact retain pounds of water. I guarantee the first 10lbs of weight I lost was water weight. It fell off of me in a little over a week and as such couldn't have possibly been excess fat.
You'd be surprised at just how much water our body can hold on to with an increased level of sodium.0
