10kg (22lb) gone!

I've reached my first goal of losing 10kg (22 pounds), it's taken about 13 weeks - I seem to average 1kg every 10 days. I'm not sure if this is sustainable, but I'm going to keep working and see how far i can go. Next goal is 72kg, another 10 down.

In some ways it feels like I've only made small changes - I'm eating the same kind of meals, but smaller portions. I'm still snacking (feels like a lot!) but healthier options and again, smaller serves. And I'm walking/running for 30 - 35 mins 5 or 6 days a week.
Oh, and I'm eating about 1500 NET cals a day now. I started at 1660 NET and have dropped it down to 1550, most days I come in just a bit under. (If you're confused, the NET means that I eat 1500 plus my exercise calories  )

Some of you might find it encouraging to know that I don't go to a gym, don't have an HRM, don't take any supplements, rarely drink protein shakes or eat "diet" food, still drink wine/cider/beer every few days and am losing weight steadily! I'm not knocking any of those things, but for me they haven't been necessary to this point.

Here's some before/after pics - January vs April.

Love it!!! Thanks for sharing... you're looking really great!
  • Congratulations! I am happy to hear that someone else is doing what I'm doing and it's working. I too haven't really changed much, I have always worked out so that's not an issue, but the eating I just started eating smaller portions and paying more attention to what it is I am eating. I am still shocked everytime I get on the scale!

Thanks everyone, I didn't think there would be too much difference in photos for that amount of weight either - I'm pretty horrified with the "before" holiday pics! I wonder how long the next 10kg will take??
