So, I've lost a bit but I'm nowhere near where I want to be. I have made a vow that I will not invest in new cothing until I reach at least 10lbs...I'm at 7. I'm hosting a party tomorrow night, it will be very casual. All of my casual clothing is tattered and they have all seen it. What small investment can I make to not look like a scrub but also not outlay a bunch of cash on clothes that won't fit me in a couple of weeks? Thrift stores are out because I'm out of time. Just need quick suggestions on what's in style this spring, maybe something I can pull together with my ravelling denim??? Any suggestions greatly appreciated. At this point I'm thinking denim shirt but that screams 90's! Help!!!

If there is a Thrift Store or Goodwill near you, they are a Treasure Trove of Bargains. I even bought a Coach Purse at Goodwill for $2.99!!

:blushing: sorry!! I just re-read your post and you said No Thrift stores. I am sorry.

Definitely hit up Goodwill if there's one near you. I'm in the same boat of not wanting to buy a new wardrobe until I meet my goal. I recently purchased a pair of jeans (Mossimo)and a pair of slacks (American Eagle) with store tags still on for $7 total. :)

You're the host you should look put together. If you must wear a pair of denims pair a cute top with them.Another option would be a cute summer dress you'll get your wear out of it.Enjoy your party:drinker:

Oh gosh, just saw the no thrift store comment as well! I think a nice button up shirt (possibly with the stretch material) would work and still fit in the long run.

Hmm maybe you can get something cute that you already own taken in to fit you better? Maybe a rush job?
