Suggested Servings??

Hello all. I am entering week three of my healthier lifestyle and my first week on MFP. I just bought, "Better Homes and Gardens New Dieter's Cookbook" and the recipes look great and while it does list the nutritional information per serving, not one states how much is considered a serving. Obviously some recipes are easy to figure out but roasts, hams, casseroles, side dishes etc. are impossible. I am comically obsessed with portions (it's working!) and am constantly washing out measuring cups to make sure one serving, is one serving. Any ideas?
Thanks!
Jen

  • It doesn't say something like "Serves 4" on the recipe? That's strange that they would give you the nutritional information but not tell you what a serving is.

Lisa, yes they do state number of servings, for example, a casserole says it serves 5-6. How would I divide it up? Weigh the whole casserole and divide by 6? Just doesn't seem practical. Thinking about returning the book actually.
