Not sure to believe my Dr?

I am asking an honest opinion. Don't bash me please!
I was put on a new medication about a week and a half ago, I was told it can cause weight loss for the first few weeks of use, and like a dumbo i didn't think to ask that since I am monitoring my calories and such maybe I should adjust it for a few weeks. Following my normal 1200 calories i have been loosing around 2-3lbs a week lately, but this week - since Monday I have lost 7! (now i will admit because of my pain meds from my back injury i did have 2 days this week around 800-1000 cals instead, cause the meds made me nauseas but i didn't think that would make too big of a difference) and weigh in isn't until monday. Truthfully I am a little concerned. My Dr isn't open until Monday so I will definitely call then but the medical hotline I called told me that sometimes this happens because the medication interacts with my already boosted metabolism from following a steady calorie intake and said not to worry unless I have three weeks in a row of an over 5lbs loss. But that just doesn't seem healthy? I guess I'm hoping for any ideas or suggestions until I can talk to my Dr on monday.

Wait and call your doctor. I think that is a lot to loose in 1 week. I would ask for blood work to make sure it is not affecting body function. Just to be safe.0

I honestly wouldn't worry too much, unless you are feeling lethargic or whatnot. Some medicines react this way and it's normal. My Aunt ate like a champ on some meds she was taking a while ago and healthily lost 20 lbs in about 3 weeks. Then no loss for a month. No adverse effects. And after the medication was done, she was actually happy with the loss, so she just started to eat a little less to maintain it! LOL0

I wouldn't panic... yet. Stay calm. Eat right. And call your DRs office on Monday.
That is a ton of weight fast, but is may be lots of water and that will balance out.
Good luck! and let us know what you find out on Monday!0 -
Are you feeling ok? If you're feeling fatigued or run down from your weight loss, you should up your calories a little (at 1200 now, you can certainly do that without worrying about gaining weight). If not, I'd say you're definitely fine until Monday. I would agree with the med hotline operator. This may just be a temporary boost to your metabolism because you're body was exposed to something new.0

Your physician should have an answering service that you can call 24 hours a day. It would be the smart thing to call that and talk to him/her. A forum such as this is not the appropriate place to ask for such advice. I do not know what type of medication you are asking about and all medication have side effects and react with other medications, foods, and even vitamin suppplements. You could call the pharmacy that you got it filled at and speak to the pharmacist who also has knowledge and may be able to answer some of your questions. But you need to speak to your physician0 -
I feel fine. It's been a rough stressful week to begin with. but ive been full of energy. I just woke up this morning and had the urge to weigh myself and was kind of shocked. I googled (which is NEVER a good idea ha) and read all the bad stuff that can happen from rapid weightloss but it does say that its over an extended period of time. i guess i needed to hear YOU AREN'T DYING haha I am thankful for the weightloss but I was just a little worried. I'm a worry wart!0
