So I found out last night that I've got strep throat, and my question now is if I should take a day or two off of exercising and being really strict on my calories, or try my best to keep it up?

You should probably forget the diet altogether and listen to your body. You burn a lot of calories when you're sick.

I'd take a few days off until you're feeling better. Strep throat can be nasty...I had it when I was 18 and the infection went into my kidneys...not good. Let your body use all that energy to fight the infection!

Ack, this is a question you should have asked your doctor, not a bunch of internet dieters. :frown: Anyway, it depends on how sick you are. You shouldn't have respiratory symptoms so walking or weight lifting should be fine, but obviously you shouldn't be busting out the HIIT or anything when you're ill. You should feel much better in 2 days or so when the anmtibiotics kick in, anyway, Get better soon

If you're sick you should give your body a rest. Eat mindfully and right, especially since you want to do your body good by eating healthy veggies, butternut soup, etc. Things that will make you feel good. But there's no need to make yourself exercise if youre sick

I'd say listen to your body. Probably best to rest and take care of yourself so you can come back faster. Hope you feel better!
