So I'm late but just heard about it... Has anyone tried it??? Kinda hit a plateau and was wondering if this might help me get jumpstarted. Granted I would just do the fruits and would still eat one regular meal a day. :ohwell:

  • I haven't heard of this diet, but this brings back a memory.

Several years ago, when my kids were little and I was buying baby food for them, 2 young girls were in the baby aisle. I overheard one telling the other how she eats babyfood to keep skinny, how it has so few calories, etc... At the time, I really thought it was pretty sad, and infact I still do. There is so much pressure on young girls to be "skinny"...

Anyway, if you do decide to try it, I hope it works out for you. Please keep us posted!

No. Don't do it. It's a fad diet. Plateaus just require a different approach to exercise and calorie balance. Don't get sucked in! lol

baby food is just real food that's been put through a food processor with water. and i'm pretty sure it's cheaper to just buy real food and. . well, process it.

you might as well just go on a raw food diet. it's kinda the same thing, and less creepy. my 2cents.
  • ummmm, never heard of this diet, but I know there is every diet imaginable out there. I would think that you could just eat fresh fruits instead and have the same effect and it would be cheaper and more natural if you really wanted to do this. But my advice would be just to keep with your routines on here if it is working, maybe up the workouts if needed, and maybe even up your cals if the plateau has really been keeping you back for a while. You will get through it if you just keep things up and move ahead probably faster than before when you finally get past it. It can be frustrating, but STICK WITH IT!!

Just my opinion and experience of course!! Good luck.

My room mate did that. I think it was easier for her, because she actually enjoyed baby food...banana baby food, anyway. She thought it was delicious! I don't know how long she stuck with it, but I don't think she lost much weight. I definitely couldn't tell a difference, and she worked out hardcore in conjunction!

In college, some kid brought in baby food to a class as a "birthday treat" for the professor and I discovered that I have a bizarre weakness for the Gerber Organics peach cobbler. Other than that, it's just regular food + preservatives in a blender. May as well eat whole foods that taste better, just watch your portions.

I would definetly not eat just baby food! I do eat babyfood often but it is not the main part of my diet. Eat it right after a work out :)

cconeill, Just want to know why you are eating it right after a workout? I am not sure why this would be more helpful than regular food with protein and healthy carbs. I am not trying to put it down or attack what you do, I am just interested and would like to know why. Thanks.
  • Omg, baby food.. really?!? Havent heard of that fad diet yet!! My concern is, the jars are so small (because they are for babies LOL) would you only eat one little jar as a meal? I dont think I would be able to survive eating that amount! Plateaus are good, change up your routine. As long as you are still doing what you have been doing and eating healthy and staying healthy, losing weight is a benefit in addiition to your more important overall health. I know that I do get mad when I dont lose any weight and work so hard during the week. However, I brush it off and look at the other positives I have achieved that week!

Baby peaches frozen are delicious! lol. My brother is 10 years younger than my sis and I and we learned this when he was young :) We didn't do baby foods with my daughter, we went right to table foods, and I have to say it made me look hard at what we were eating. Our whole diet changed because I wasn't willing to feed her the crap we enjoyed and since then we're all much healthier. I guess technically that's my baby food diet
