I just started here, and i want to do low-carb diet, at least for the 1st 2 weeks. Settings don't seem to allow that. so I'll just see if i lose weight this way. Lost 20 lbs years ago. A pound a day. Kept it off for a long time, too.

Low carb isn't always recommended but if you go to change your goals and go the "customize" route, you can adjust all the settings to your liking..

Rather than doing a low carb, maybe do a low starch diet. Cutting out breads, rice and grains but keeping or increasing your intake of fruits and veggies which are also sources of carbs. Carbohydrates are necessary for proper body function, so reducing them entirely is not usually a good idea.

I thought their carbs were set a little high for me as I am on a high protein diet, so I just went into custom settings and took my intake of carbs/protein/fats to 50/30/20%. I think theirs was set a slightly higher for carbs originally. I want to make it 45/40/15%, but I am going to do that gradually as I haven't gotten the fats down yet.

I think OP is doing a detox of carbs out of their body....thats why they said 1-2 weeks...not forever. A couple of weeks without fruits and most vegetables is not harmful and then you reintroduce them gradually....it's what's recommended on many low carb "diets" (hate that word lol)

    Hello njoytheride

If you want to adjust your ratios for carbs/protein and fat do the following:

click on "my home" tab, click on "goals" and "change goals".

I highly recommend doing the low carb route, since I've personally had the most success (never hungry and decent results) with the south beach diet. It isn't classified as a low carb diet per se, I didn't really have to track anything carbs, fat, calories etc, but the first phase of the diet pretty much is low carb when you look at it overall.

I'm not sure if you're interested, but I'll provide some links that you can look over if you choose to.

http://www.southbeachdietguide.com/ decent amount of information on the southbeach diet

http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=132598293 has a interesting read about Ketosis

I wish you the best of luck with whatever you choose to do.
