Changes in my thinking since beginning this journey

I have noticed such a change in me, as far as my thoughts and attitude go!!! People here where I live are mindlessly stuffing their faces with whatever the can find with no regards to their big ole gut hanging out over their pants, or those 5 fat rolls cascading down the front of them...its really sad and disgusting to me. We had some sort of bbq contest/cook off thing here in town over the weekend....and someone posted pix to their facebook....and EVERY one of the people in the pictures were fat and stuffing their faces. Major guts and fat rollls..... I am serious....EVERY one of them...men and women included.....I was just like..wow.....kinda made me go ewww.... I am so glad that is not me anymore. And I dont mean to be ugly by no means....its just that I have such a new awareness for what I am putting in my mouth now. This is such a great site...and there are lots of us with different goals, and stages that we are on...but the important thing here is that we are ALL on our way!!!! Kudos to all of you who are here and make the effort every day...

It's almost a good feeling to know you're getting out of that cycle, isn't it? I look at people who are about the same weight as an elephant and sigh. I am glad I've lost my extra weight and that I'm not in their shoes anymore, but I want to slap the pizza and chips out of their chubby little hands. I've seen one lady every other day or so who lost a ton of weight a few years ago but is now about 2 sizes bigger than she was before she lost her weight. And I shutter when I hear her at her desk rummaging through a bag of prok rines and crunching loudly with her mouth open. I really want to scream "SSUUUUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEE". I know it's mean, but this country is so overweight and we need to have a more self respect for ourselves.
Like you, my thinking has changed ... and more about myself. I told myself when I reached my goal of 53.5 pounds a few pounds ago that I would celebrate with a huge extra cheese pizza or something. I think I went to the gym, ran 6 miles and had a huge salad instead. It's a big change in how we feel and think about ourselves and what we eat and do in this game. I'm glad we are all on this ship instead of the one sinking because the load is too heavy.0 -
