the truth about water

If you add a water enhancer like crystal lite or MIO can you still count this as water intake? I hope so because I can't drink plain water. Comes from a lifetime of soda and koolaid.

yep water is water just make sure you always look at calories and your good !0

I count any calorie free drink as water but still try to drink at least 2 8 oz. glasses of plain water a day. I use the Nutrilite Twist Tubes and dilute them to 24 ounces instead of 16 as recommended. Just enough flavor for me!0

Even water from foods like fruits and vegetables counts toward your daily intake (although it may be hard to truly know how much of it you get daily).0

I've read there are some drinks that work against water. I understand, if you drink sodas, especially caffienated ones, coffee, and alcoholic beverages, you should increase your water intake to counteract the dehydrating effects of those beverages. At least that is what my work tells me when I take the thermal stress tests. I work in an extremely hot environment, and am at risk for heat stress while working. They say if your urine has color to it, you need to drink more water.0

I've read the same about caffeinated drinks, because as you've said they dehydrate the body.
And yes, if there is color especially if it is dark yellow you should be drinking more. If it's brown that means your kidneys have major issues.
Also remember that drinking water helps to flush out your system so you pee the (for better word) toxins out. Keeping hydrated is a very good idea for many reasons, but also it can help to jumpstart weightloss. Drinking enough water (not a dangerous amount) can help you to lose a couple extra pounds in a week and keep them off. (I didn't believe it until I upped my water intake a few months ago).0 -
Hello, I too drink Crystal Light h2o mixes...they're 5 cal a tube and I use it in my 16oz water bottle. I'll drink 2-3 a day and I have not counted the calories in, but I do count the water. Should I be? Prob....ugh!0

I would. If it's got any calories, I'd add those as well.0

Yeah, you're prob right.....but I'm not checking my vitamins! I don't want to know if they've got cals...surely they do and I want to remain ignorant of that =]0

I recently started buying the Mio liquid water enhancers. They taste great and are 0 cals. I find myself drinking a lot more water!0
