hello, I'm as big as a linebacker and have had enought of it! I'm looking for ways to loose weight that can be added to the way I live the rest of my life (No shakes, pills etc). If you have any ideas please feel free to share. I have co-works who are food and diet obsessed all they do is talk about diet foods and points. I do not want to be like them. Thanks for any ideas you may have! ekburnet

I bought a Wii and was gifted the Wii Fit Plus. Also bought a nice treadmill. 5lbs so far since March. Really motivated! Battling food addiction and that is hard but stocking the cupboards with health snacks like popcorn and NO sweets is helping. Eating protiens and veggies as main plate anchor and minimizing carbs. Good luck!

Eating fruit in place of processed sugar and whole grains in place of refined grains is an easy way to make changes. Trade in sodas and tea for water. I am frequently over my limit for sugar, but as long as I'm eating fruit instead of candy, keep my fiber intake higher and my calories at the appropriate level, I don't worry about it.
  • For me, it is all about portion control. If I could just control my meals and snacking, then the world would be a better place for me! :)

Whole foods...nothing processed, nothing refined. And exercise.
Not exciting but it works and you feel better.
Good luck!!! Keep us posted on your progress!

Write down everything you eat, Portion Control, and consistently MOVING. Exercise EVERY day, doing a little more each week than you did the week before. lso, stocking your Pantry as Syn70 suggested is a GREAT idea. This has worked for me.
 And I just discovered this morning that I used to be BIGGER than a Newborn Baby Elephant!!!!

OSUalumn - I agree. The more I learn about foods like fake sugar The more whole foods make sense! Thanks for the post.
