I've been looking at bodybugg, but I don't want to have to pay a monthly fee on top of shelling out for the gadget. Do any of you have a good heart rate monitor you can dish on? I want to use it mainly to get more accurate calorie burn counts for cardio and for my strength training circuits (which have cardio mixed in). Tx!!!!!

I love my polar F4, it was around $80 (on sale but I'm sure reg price isn't bad either) and it's for a woman so the watch part is slimmer and an ice blue color. Much better looking than my clunky old black one. Whatever you do, don't get an HRM without a chest strap, without it their pretty much guessing.

I bought the Polar FT4 about a week ago. I absolutely LOVE it! It comes with a chest band and a wireless transmitter. It monitors calorie burn and of course your heart rate. It gives you what zone your heart rate should be in during your workout based on your age and weight. It is super easy to set up and use. It costs around 90 bucks..Well worth it!

There have been many topics on here about HRMs. You should search heart rate monitor...I have a Sportline Duo for women...slightly difficult to learn and get used to, but still worth it. Came with a chest strap and very accurate. $70

I have a Polar FT4, it's brilliant. Does exactly what I need it to do (I do P90X).

Once you have entered all your statistics it sets a "zone" for you, which you can see when working out, the zone is your optimal fitness range. Stay in it, burn more cals!, shows calories burned at the end of each workout and stores them to look back on too.

It didn't cost the earth either!

They do an FT4F for the ladies too, its looks prettier! lol

    Hope this helps.

    Ben.
