Taking more rest days?

I am super busy lately, and will be for the next month or so. The last couple of weeks I have been needing more rest days than usual, not because of time constraints, but because of lack of energy. I get plenty of sleep most nights, but it seems like by Friday I am so exhausted that I have no energy to workout all weekend, not to mention that I am usually doing other things on the weekends, too. Right now, we are busy every night of the week except Monday. I have been doing Turbo Fire, strength training and some running to get ready for a 5k at the end of May. I would like to workout 6 days per week, but it seems like am only able to manage 5 lately. I am doing Zumba Tuesday nights and strength training Tuesday mornings, playing softball on Friday nights and practicing on one weekend day. My son is also in Cub Scouts and playing Baseball so I am running around for that. We are also putting in a garden so we are working on that. I feel like I am at my breaking point LOL. Luckily this is just April and May that are like that, then after school is out, things calm down a bit. Anybody else super busy and just needing more rest?

Yep. Just yesterday I slept 14 hours straight. Two days prior to that I slept 12 1/2 hours straight. This after two super long days of intense workouts and running around with daily life errands. Thankfully I eat very well and know what supplemental herbs to take to boost my immune system lest it become weakened and I end up getting sick.

The need to have more rest days is usually a combination of having a busy life and over-training. Signs of over-training are fatigue, decreased appetite or conversely wanting to eat everything in site, irritability, depression, insomnia, and restlessness. Of course you may or may not have two or more of these symptoms, but they're definite markers to help you realize the need to slow down and get some much needed rest.
