NSV? Dinner = Mini Binge

my son was sick yesterday. and i was super-hormonal (adjusting to a new birth control). and i got to thinking about my mother, my relationship with her, and a lot of things that i normally just ignore about how she brought me up and how she was never there for me, physically or emotionally, when i needed her. so i laid down in my bed and had a good cry. then, i got up and decided to eat.
instead of preparing the delicious chicken and brown rice i had planned, i ate a double serving of cereal with milk. then i ate two turkey and cheese sandwiches. then crackers. then a couple pieces of candy. and i think a cereal bar, but i could be wrong. oh, and some leftovers that hadn't made it into the freezer yet.
today, i posted a status update referring to that ^ as a mini-binge - i know that people who REALLY binge can eat a LOT more in much less time. but that's how i felt about it. but i was just thinking about it, and. . .three months ago, that would've been DINNER and a snack. and now it's my version of a binge. and i cried, for the second time today (eff you, Phil_M, for the first one) because i was so happy and proud of myself. what used to be a regular meal is now SO MUCH FOOD that i made myself sick just thinking about it.
and i also had a startling revelation - i can still lose weight, even when i have bad days like that. the scale showed a loss this morning of over half a pound from my last check. i didn't really make the connection until just now, trying to remember and log all the food i ate last night (i did the weigh in early this morning).
so, yeah. go, me?

Congrats, its great that we can have a bad day but not beat ourselves up over it. Its just one slip up and a new day is a fresh start.0
