Anyone dieting and TTC?

I have PCOS and am currently on fertility medication for trying to conceive. At first I was reluctant to exercise other than walking only because well when you have to go through what us PCOSer's do you want to make sure you don't do anything to jeopardize a fertilized egg implanting. But I have decided I am going to continue with the elliptical and walking.
Anyone else trying to get pregnant?

I'm ttc, it was one of the reasons why I decided to start cracking down and dropping this weight, hoping that if I do it'll be easier for me to concieve. I got pregnant last year around this time and miscarried at 7 weeks, and haven't had any success since.0

Sorry for your loss.
I have a 3 year old son. I have only been pregnant that one time and it was also with fertility meds. I am losing weight for ttc as well as my health etc.
Alot of women have success getting pregnant after losing weight. I have lost 60lbs before and still was unable to get TOM without medication or to conceive. I had actually gained back 40lbs and got pregnant then. Go figure. I am hoping this time losing some weight will help to get pregnant but obviously will help during the pregnancy.
Good luck!0 -
I just got pregnant. I go to the gym up to five days a week spending up to an hour doing my gym's circuit (30 min cardio/strength training) and cardio either on the treadmill or arc trainer. Exercise isn't going to "shake" an egg out of, don't worry. Just keep your exercise routine at the same level you're used to and you should be fine. But, talk to your doctor about your concerns.0

Thank you, and good luck to you as well! I don't know anything about PCOS or fertility meds, I'm putting off goint to a fertility specialist until after I lose at least 50lbs if I still haven't had any luck, but I'm sure you can ask your doctor which exercises to stay away from and which are ok.0 -
I was exercising when I got pregnant with my son. My dr told me I could continue with walking. I done that, started spotting and immediately stopped. I threatened a miscarriage for a month. So needless to say I stopped exercising the entire time I was pregnant. PCOS increases the chance of miscarriage as well.
Noadditives-I know that it wont shake an egg out etc. But it is so hard after years of TTC, the torture we have to go through physically and emotionally to be at ease with it all. When you dont get pregnant you look back wondering if it was because I overdone it at the gym or because I jumped or ran etc. Congratulations on your pregnancy!!!0 -

Thanks!
I had a threatened miscarriage at 7 weeks with my son. Most of the time there is no specific cause, although my husband I blame the chain smoking neighbors we had at the time. About 50% of all pregnancies have a threatened miscarriage and at least 50% of those go on to have normal, problem-free pregnancies.
If it's so difficult to conceive, why not adopt? There are thousands and thousands of babies and children in this country who are in desperate need of loving families. Once my kids are older we're going to adopt teenagers from the foster system so that we can give them a college education. They are the least likely to be adopted and the ones who need family support the most. that vast majority of teens in the foster system are aged out at 18 and are left to fend for themselves, putting them at high risk for drug and alcohol abuse, homelessness, prostitution, etc.0 -
Adoption is still a option. However, we first will try for another biological child.0

Good luck! I tried back in Sept and overstimmed. Was in some pain for about a week. I sure hope it doesn't happen this time as well.
A lot of dr's say "if you would lose at least 10% of your weight you could get pregnant." HA doc's it doesn't always work that way.0 -
