Feeling overwhelmed.

I know this may sound stupid but the more I read into nutrition the more I am getting info overload and not sure about what to believe anymore.

I know to cut sugars down, I know the less processed the better. I know to drink water. What I am getting confused on is is with protein and carbs. Does it matter if I go over on protein? When I excercise and mfp puts up my carbs when I excercise do I stick with mfp or do I still aim for the original carbs set before excercise. I have no problem keeping under my sodium.

Also because I have alot to lose and started losing before joining mfp, I had no idea about the 'do I eat my excercise' calorie debate. So far I haven't and now that I have read about it, I am thinking once I lose half my goal and slow down on the weight loss, then i will try and start to eat some of the back. I understand the logic behind it but trying to make that leap and do it is becoming a fear. My mind just won't let me take that step yet.

I excercise 1 or two times a day for 30 minutes.

Any advice would be great as I want to do this the right way for good.

I use my own ratios for protein and so on. I use 40,40,20 right now.

I also eat back exercise calories, I'm set at half a pound a week so I've got 250 calories to play with, if I'm hungry I can eat all of them and still lose half a pound a week. If I"m not that hungry, I can leave 250 and be at one pound a week. I like the wiggle room and I'm very close to my last, goal weight.

For me, the 1200 they set me at wasn't enough for how much I work out. My base is now 1640 and my body is responding much better. You have to see what works for you in regards to base calories and really, other things such as ratios.

I don't go beyond a certain deficit because I've worked hard for the muscle that I've built and am stil building and I don't want my body turning to said muscle because I'm not feeding it properly. It took me a while and a roller coaster of different calorie amounts but I think I've finally got it and am finally feeding my body properly.
