Hi, I'm Jen and I just signed up to MFP today. I just had a baby 3 months ago. I was already overweight before getting pregnant. Although I am only about 7 lbs or so over where I was before I became pregnant, my body has changed and I can't fit into any of my old clothes. That fact, along with my horrible stretch marks and being tired all the time leaves me feeling so bad about myself. I have been vowing to eat better, exercise more, etc. I always start out with so my energy but always end up failing. Can anyone out there relate? Does anyone have any tips about how to take care of yourself and have success with diet and exerise when trying to care for a baby?

Hi Jen I know how you feel, having had 4 kids my bady is ruined lol I am covered in strech marks and I hate them. I know it feels hopeless and you're tired. I went through the same thing. After I had my last child I was left at 250lbs! I'm not going to lie it took a very long time to lose that weight, it took me so long because I kept starting and stopping and eventually gave up. You have to keep going no matter what you cant get what you dont work for. Star off by going for walks with the baby (congrats by the way) cut out things little by little, like if you drink soda or eat chips etc... You will see it take little things to start seeing big changes. Good luck and best wishes0

I have 4 year old twins. I gained 42 lbs. when I was pregnant and it took quite a while to get all the weight off. Granted, I was so busy with taking care of them and making sure they were healthy (they were 6 weeks early, a little scary for us!) that I didn't care about losing the weight right away. Now I weigh about 10 lbs. less than what I did pre-babies, but the weight distribution has definitely changed. I can't wear skirts anymore. Stretch marks are faded, but still visible, and bikinis are not an option. I always tell my husband I wish I had worn sluttier clothes before we had kiddos )
Bottom line--it took a while for you to gain the weight, and it will take a while to get it off. Your baby is only 3 months old. Give it time. I know it's depressing to not be able to wear your old clothes. I was wearing my husband's 34 inch waist jeans when the boys were 6 months old and feeling sorry for myself! But don't worry, it will come off. Maybe not as quickly as you'd like, but it will.
Hang in there! The first few months can be rough for everyone. You'll make it )0 -
